Why Counselling?

There are many reasons why, at some point in our life, we may all benefit from the services of a professionally trained and registered counsellor.

You may recently have lost a loved one, or feel generally depressed, lacking in energy or motivation, as though life has no purpose. Perhaps you are leading a life that you feel is simply not right for you, but feel trapped and powerless to change.

At a counselling session you may wish to explore your hopes, or fears, surrounding a possible change of direction in your life. It may be that you're leaving a long-term relationship, beginning a new career, making a move abroad, or looking toward milestones in your life, such as marriage, planning a family, or retirement.

Sometimes we find ourselves having to remain strong and responsible on the surface, while inside we are confused, worried, scared, distraught, or just plain exhausted. Often we have no choice but to bury these inner feelings as we attempt to move on.

In some cases, many years later, we may find ourselves feeling listless, tearful or detached, as the feelings, emotions and grief, that were unable to be expressed at that earlier time gradually begin to re-appear.
